Being that this is the busiest time of the year you may not have time to come up with new craft ideas to keep your kids busy; so, I did some research for you. Here are two I especially liked.
What you will need:
Scissors
2 Silver and/or blue tinsel pipe cleaners per snowflake
Blue, white and silver plastic pony beads
Ornament hangers
What to do:
1. Cut the pipe cleaners in half to make 4 pieces.
2. Make a cross with two pieces, twist and secure.
3. Then add the other two pieces, twist and secure. Now you should have a snowflake shape.
4. Add a few beads to each piece of pipe cleaner.
5. Bend the ends of each
piece of pipe cleaner just enough to prevent the beads from falling off.
6. Add an ornament hanger or make a loop with the pipe cleaner to hang.
Snowman Cupcakes. (Building a snowman atop a cupcake is sure to bring a big smile to the face of any sweet tooth seeking mom or child.)
What you will need:
Your favorite flavor cupcake topped with vanilla icing
Extra icing to use as glue
Large marshmallows
Chocolate covered mints
Chocolate sprinkles
Gummy fish
What to do:
1. Separate various ingredients and form an assembly line to create the most effective snowmen building factory.
2. Use marshmallows for the body. You can make the top one smaller by cutting 1/3 off.
3. Use dabs of icing to “glue” pieces together.
3. Top the body with the chocolate covered mint for a hat.
4. Poke small holes with a wet toothpick for the eyes and insert chocolate sprinkles into the holes.
5. Use a gummy fish for the nose.
6. These are just recommended goodies, but feel free to use your imagination!
I selected these two crafts from a variety of others at this website: http://www.sheknows.com/parenting/articles/812064/top-10-christmas-activities
